My Sport, My Story Workshop

A free two hour workshop for schools to inspire young females to get involved in physical activity.

My Sport, My Story looks at what motivates us to take part in sport and active recreation and barriers and solutions to participation for females. There will also be an opportunity to try various disability sports.

The workshop highlights how local females with a disability overcame barriers to become involved in sport and active recreation. A key speaker will be there to tell their story. Previous presenters have included Kelly Gallagher (Paralympic Skiing Gold Medallist) and Claire Taggart (Rio Paralympian for Boccia).

We ask for a female audience but each school can decide the age/year group or class to take part. The workshop would be most beneficial for young females who are not sporty and may be difficult to engage in PE.

If you would like your school to receive the workshop, please contact poneill@dsni.co.uk and we can schedule a suitable date and time.
