Swim Ulster were awarded the Disability Sport NI’s Inclusive Sport Award recognising their commitment to creating an inclusive sports environment for people with disabilities.
The award was presented on Saturday night at their yearly War Memorial Gala to commemorate all swimmers who fell in the 1914 – 1918 and 1939 – 1945 World Wars.
Swim Ulster officials and competitors were joined at the Gala by prestigious swimming officials from Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN) and Disability Sport NI’s Chief Executive Officer Kevin O’Neill and Performance Sport Manager, Elaine Reid.
On presenting Swim Ulster’s Stephen Cuddy with the Inclusive Sport Award, Kevin O’Neill of Disability Sport NI comments, “It is with great pleasure that we now present our fourth Inclusive Sport Award, recognising the commitment that Governing Bodies of Sport in Northern Ireland are making to increase the participation of people with disabilities in their sport.
We look forward to continuing to work closely with Swim Ulster on developing their inclusive workforce, inclusive competitor pathways and inclusive coaching pathways.”
