Northern Ireland will be represented by five athletes this weekend in the 2017 Scottish International Open Boccia Championships in Inverclyde. In the BC2 category Scott Cromie from Rathfriland will hope to make his mark against some tough Danish & English opponents. Also in BC2 Northern Ireland’s 2016 Rio Paralympian Claire Taggart will compete in GB Boccia colours this weekend in preparation for the European Championships at the end of the month in Portugal.
In the BC1 category Fermanagh’s William Graham will renew his rivalry with world champion David Smith and Ireland’s Niamh Dunphy in a tough group that will test the experienced Fermanagh native to the full.
On Friday the players will play in the Team & Pairs Competitions for their respective countries across all classification with Northern Ireland being represented in BC1/2 team & BC3 pairs.
An exciting weekend is in store on the west coast of Scotland, with some of the best talent in the UK and beyond in action.
